Christmas is coming, and fast! I was walking round my local supermarket earlier this week when I turned into one aisle and was confronted with Christmas. There were Christmas puddings, fancy foods, wrapping paper, cards and tins of chocolate. Thankfully, there was no festive music playing. I prefer not to hear ‘Santa songs’, as my little lad likes to call them, before December 1st. Have you already created your festive display or not even thought about it?
If you have already created you display that’s brilliant, you’re organised and have planned well in advance. If you’ve not even considered it yet, then you need to jump on the bandwagon quick smart, it’ll have been and gone before you blink.
In order to fit in all those extra Christmas goodies, your shop will no doubt need a bit of rearranging and you may even find that you need a whole extra wall bay or maybe just a couple of extra shelves. Did you know that you don’t have to buy the ‘whole shelf unit’? The advantage of using a modular retail shelving system is that you can always purchase just the bits you need or replace some components that are looking a bit tired and worn.
Don’t forget that as well as using wider shelves and more shelves, you can also add to the height of your units (as long as ceiling space allows it).
Hopefully I’ve not scared you into thinking ‘Bah Humbug’. Christmas is a wonderful time of year but I understand that it can be a very stressful and busy period for retailers. Forward planning is the key to having a great and effective display, without spending a lot.
