Modular Retail Shelving – Weight Holding

We are regularly asked what the maximum weight you can put on each individual shelf. The answer is 230kg using heavy duty shelf brackets & 120kg using standard brackets. In all the years we have been selling shop shelving we have never heard of a shelf we have sold giving way but its useful to know the figures. The biggest criticism of the influx of far eastern  versions of retail shelving is the lack of published data of what the brackets will hold. We have heard many examples of brackets snapping with minimal weight placed on the shelf. The consequences could be and are catastrophic. We always recommend you ask where your shop shelving is made and to see published data that should be made available to you. Good quality retail shelving should last a lifetime.
