Happy New Year everyone! Well, this is my first blog of 2014 and I’m going to reflect on some major events during the past year. There have been joy, laughter and even some painful moments. As a bespoke shop fittings supplier is no mean feat in today’s very competitive market and although 2013 has been prosperous and successful, it has also taught us that we cannot sit back on our laurels.
We had a major upheaval at the end of 2012 but finally moved into our brand new Bristol showroom and office complex, set in gorgeous country surroundings, in early January 2013. It was a gap in the local market that needed filling and we’ve since had many compliments on the building. What a great way to kick off the year!
February and March were fairly uneventful for us shopfitters, even if there were a few government resignations and scandals in the news.
In April former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died. Many mourned and many rejoiced, but whatever feelings people had on the matter, she was one of many prominent and famous people who sadly lost their lives during 2013.
May, June and July were busy shopfitting months on the whole. We were privileged to supply shopfittings to Granada Television, Ironman World Triathlon and a chain of travel agents. We also reviewed and ensured all our security procedures were up to date having been targeted by criminals with fraudulent transactions and hacking attempts. We are pleased to say that none of these were successful thanks to thorough safety procedures and due diligence by staff.
Recording breaking temperatures were recorded throughout the UK in August and let me tell you, it pushed our shopfitting teams to the limit working in the heat. We installed water dispensers in the office and made sure our teams went out fully stocked with plenty of water to ensure they were safe and could provide you with the excellent standards of services we are known for. We also had 2 new arrivals in the form of baby Alpacas, born in the field next door to the offices on a sunny afternoon.
The latter half of the year saw us launched into the Social Media, with Twitter and Facebook marketing (well, we need to keep up with the 21st century!) as well as producing a video advertorial. Did you know you can submit video reviews to us and have them published on our You Tube channel?
We were again delighted to be able to help out ITV Studios in November with their much needed shopfittings and fixtures for Emmerdale. Don’t forget to watch it!
With December finally upon us, we realised that the year had vanished into the past and there were festive celebrations with mince pies and crackers. The Christmas shutdown was upon us and we were grateful to have had the chance to put our feet up for a week or two.
